Gift Tilapia!!!

Grilled Fish At The Gift Tilapia Restaurant

I am too busy to blog for now, so jammed up with finals and presentations") So i decided to take my cousins post")hehe.... so yea here's the post")") Some sort of business my dad ventured in lately")

~Fisherman~

Okay, I have tonnes to post about, so expect more food stuffs coming this way real fast! Heh! For now, I will be posting the latest ones and slowly work my way back. Hopefully I can get all these out quick enough! *crosses fingers* This time around, I went to my uncle's newly opened restaurant in Seremban! It's called "The Gift Tilapia Restaurant" which specializes in - you guessed it right - Tilapia dishes!

The premise of the restaurant. Very simple set up, but don't judge a book by its cover just yet! *wink* The restaurant's address:
No. 11, Lorong Merbok 6/1
Taman Bunga Blossom
70100 Seremban

The menu...very simple dishes as of now, but there will be more to come! For now, let me show you what we had:

Vegetables...standard fare, blanched lettuce with oyster sauce and a little bit of oil. Simple yet yummy!

Stir fried bean sprouts...also another simple dish.

Then comes the highlight of the day! Yummy fish! Remember the green tilapia that I mentioned in this post? Well, this fish is the main attraction in the restaurant! This is the Portugese grilled fish...a whole fish grilled but still tender and spread with a yummy 'secret recipe' chilli paste that will have you adding more and more rice! The dish is topped with fresh lady's fingers.(a MUST in this dish! The chillies go very well with the lady's finger!)

Not to toot my uncle's horn and stuff, but the fish is just finger-licking good! Not only is it fresh, but the meat just falls away from the bone when you take it up (it's THAT tender!) and when you put it in the mouth, it melts away like pudding...yummmmm! Plus, you don't get that earthy taste that we normally get with the Tilapia here, so it's a win-win situation! *grins*

Another variation of the grilled fish...this is a simple, soya sauce version. Topped with sliced ginger and spring onions it's perfect for those who are not fond of spicy food. You can just taste the 'sweetness' of the fish meat in this dish because the sauce brings that out. If the fish is not fresh, you'll never be able to taste that!

Last but not least, we had the salted prawns! My uncle raises prawns in his aquaculture farm too, so these prawns are guaranteed fresh! Seasoned with a generous helping of salt, the prawns are wrapped in an aluminum foil packet and subsequently grilled. When it's done, the packet is ripped open and you get THIS! You'd have to remove the salt of course, since it's just a seasoning, but the prawns are SOOOOO good! Simple concept as it is, you can't beat fresh food cooked the proper way...*grins*

So, if you're ever in the neighborhood, drop by The Gift Tilapia Restaurant! You'll never think the same about tilapia dishes again! *wink*

Do It, Not Because Of Desperation But Because Of Aspiration.

When I was done with an assignment given by the lecturer, many of my course mates who I have never spoke to me before and even smiled at me, they came to 'know' who I was and they became friendly to me. Obviously, I know what they wanted and yeah, why not, they want to look at what I’ve done, take it! This is not something I write to brag about myself because I do that too! Haha.

Anyway, that is an analogy which I could think of when I was writing this post. What does that analogy shows? Lecturer doesn’t give a proper instruction when giving assignments? Yeah, I think they usually don’t! They would just say a brief explanation about it and wala! “Submit to my office by ….”.

I would like to say a little on the friendliness of Malaysian. For us, Malaysian, it is obvious enough that people of one race usually mix around together. That is what you people out there know. 1 month ago, I got an opinion from a foreigner, a Sudanese, when I asked him “what do you think about Malaysian”, he said “I have been 3 years together with them in the same course but some still don’t know my name.” Sam, the Sudanese added that “I notice that the people from Sabah and Sarawak and the non-Malays are friendlier”. That is just one opinion from a foreigner. Many said almost the same thing too.

To a certain extend I do think he’s right but I think Malays are friendly especially the kampong Malays, some developed areas Malays, like in Kuala Lumpur and some low-educated Malays, surprisingly, are friendlier that the smart ones. Based on the analogy which is a true story, when in times of desperation, only then will they start talking.

Last Christmas, my uncle who is an Australian, visited Malaysia. It was so easy for him to make friends and he smiled to everyone who comes into an eye-contact with him, not in the malls, but everywhere else. I was thinking, if he stays here a little longer, many people would know him.

I think it’s time for us to change for the better, not for the politician fake speeches on unity just to show that they aren’t racist, but it is good for us to be friendly. We can start by smiling at our acquaintances. For those who still think it would be awkward, smile at the kids around you, that don’t make you a pedophile kay!(Pedophile means in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a sexual preference for prepubescent children). That will not only make you a friendly person, but the kids will do the same to adults too.

You have just been betched at!

~Betch

The world is in such great turmoil now, I really have no clue what's gonna happen next. You notice how people just decide to only act after certain happenings? It's so strange for me as I (and a whole lot of other people) perceive they don't learn from the past. I think it is our ego and our uber strength to voice out their self-opinionated views without any regard whatsoever to people's feelings. Yeah the common defender of such attitude would say this, "Why the hell should I care? It's only my opinion... I have the right, don't I? So why are you making such a fuss?"

Well, there's a difference between an opinion and a rude remark. A lot of people dunno that. That's another reason why countries are constantly at war with one another from every aspect. A GREAT example would be from your very own CNN. The debaters there are ALWAYS interrupting each other! How do you expect a message to ever get across from one nation to the other when the recipient keeps going "But you see...(grandmother politics story)", "You should understand... (a self-righteous financial explanation)"..... The list goes on. The only conclusion I can ever draw on such CNN international debates in a Malaysian way is this: noo mehners wan ar tis people?

Alright, so about the jizz....

This evening, around after dinner, I was walking home to my well-maintained jailhouse (HELP Residence) when I suddenly ran into a couple fighting. LOL. You guys, that was probably one of the most memorable awkward moments of my life. I spotted them from a distance already and I thought I could just walk past without interrupting. The problem was that they kept shoving and pushing and shoving and moving, to the point that they were obstructing my way back. There I was turning at every corner trying to get past them but they kept on fighting oblivious to the fact that people could be staring. Plus, the exchange of heated words sounded so scripted, I started looking around to see if there could be a director with his camera, shooting an episode for his melodrama TV series on Astro Ria, from a corner with his crew. In the end, I had to walk to the other side, making my journey longer. Idiot couple. Please take the drama home. Malaysia has enough drama already. Your drama is not needed. So tolonglah.

I know this may be a little offensive, but I thought if I cause a verbal war no matter how I address the issue, I thought "GO BIG". I'm sure there are some readers here who smoke, right? But actually ar, can you give me a valid reason as to WHY you guys smoke? Aside from the common "it's cool", "i like it", "my friends are doing it" and "HAH CAN GET CANCER WAN AR?" response, anything else? Something that could justify the act, maybe? I really don't understand, so please enlighten me. Do you guys feel rebellious for doing so? Because if you do, I hate to break this to you, but your body is gonna rebel against you too. Not only that, after that, got face problem also. Stress la... no meh?

I'm not campaigning against smokers or smoking by the way because the government might come and tembak me for bashing their most profitable product. I'm just looking for a super convincing reason why. Just give me your answers in the comment box.

I must now return to my reality of composure and propriety. It has been a good post of betchation. To any international reader who might not understand the Malaysian slang here, I'm so sorry but that's just how I roll. It's one of the few Malaysian things I can be certain and proud of. :)

God bless, everyone ;D
